I am a junior report developer for our company and have been assigned the task of evaluating business intelligence report tools that will help us become more effective decision makers. During my research phase, I took a look at various competitors in both traditional business intelligence and also open source business intelligence. As, I searched on Google search engine, I came across Actuate after typing in the keyword phrase business intelligence software. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of useful information on their website. I also found out that they have a huge community of BIRT developers who are very passionate about the open source platform. I decided to download a trial version of their product. I am currently developing test reports and find it very intuitive and easy to use. Another great feature is that you can do mobile reporting on the platform as well. I plan on also trying out other competitor’s business intelligence platforms before making any long term commitments. If you are interested in reporting tools or even SaaS BI then I suggest you try out Actuate BIRT.

The relationship between movies and dreams has always been — to borrow a term from psychoanalysis — overdetermined. From its first flickerings around the time Freud was working on “The Interpretation of Dreams,” cinema seemed to replicate the uncanny, image-making power of the mind, much as still photography had in the decades before. And over the course of the 20th century, cinema provided a vast, perpetually replenishing reservoir of raw material for the fantasies of millions of people. Freud believed that dreams were compounded out of the primal matter of the unconscious and the prosaic events of daily life. If he were writing now, he would have to acknowledge that they are also, for many of us, made out of movies.

- You’ll need an inexpensive juice machine.
- All fruits and vegetables should be juiced raw.
- Small seeded fruit, such as watermelon and pears, may be juiced with their seeds with the exception of papaya and apple seeds. Orange and grapefruit seeds might impart a bitter taste to your juice. Remove the large pits from fruits like peaches and nectarines, etc.
- Peel all fruits and vegetables that are not organically grown because the peel is where most of the chemical residues can be found. While most skins of organically grown fruits and vegetables may be left on, with the exception of waxed produce, the skins of pineapples, kiwis, oranges, grapefruits and papaya should be removed.
- Choose fresh ripe produce. Rubbery vegetables, bruised fruit, wilted greens and over or under-ripe fruits will produce juices that are neither tasty nor healthful.
- Cut the fruits or vegetables into pieces that will fit into the mouth of your juice machine. Turn the juice machine on and push the pieces through the mouth of the juicer. As you juice, pulp will collect in a large receptacle. If you don’t clean the pulp out right away, it will develop a sour odor and tiny gnats and fruit flies may appear after 8 to 10 hours.

In Chakra Tonics (Conari Press, January 2006), Collins outlines a brief description of the chakras and addresses the source of health problems in our energetic bodies, describing how the tonics assist the subtle body and chakras to release stale energy that, if not processed, can lead to disease and illness. She also describes ways to use these healthful drinks in combination with yoga techniques in an ongoing preventative manner or in conjunction with a specific meditation, visualization, or affirmation to enhance its power.
“Many popular drinks consumed in Western culture are depleted of vitality. Coffee, alcohol, sodas, some processed juices, and even some types of filtered water are lifeless as well as detrimental to the physical health of the body. In the scientific approach to health, drinks are note evaluated in terms of chi, or universal life force. Instead, it is the amount of calories, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and minerals they contain that matters. When examined from a mystical point of view, on the other hand, beverages are found to be either potent vehicles of life-affirming power or transporters of soul-deadening energies. Both approaches to the question are of value. Indeed, properly applied, science can indicate health-giving properties of food and drink as well as validate the life-enhancing abilities of many ancient practices. Chakra Tonics utilizes scientific research and ancient wisdom to create delicious vital elixirs for the modern body and soul.” ~Elise Marie Collins from the Introduction
Our chakras are hungry for the right stuff. Whether they’re sluggish in the morning or slumping in the afternoon, spinning out of control by sundown or asleep at the supper table, there’s a tonic that will help. Whip up the Blueberry Listening Shake to give your metabolism a boost or try the Sunrise Juice for lasting vitality from the moment your feet hit the floor.
